Canopy MLS has received reports again recently about phony real estate ads posted on Craigslist and elsewhere. The phony ads pictured listings that are for sale in Canopy MLS, but incorrectly described the properties as being for rent. The phony ads are scams that prompt the consumer to wire a deposit to see the property. This issue is not isolated to Canopy MLS listings. Similar complaints have occurred all over the country.
