Reverse Prospecting

The Reverse Prospecting tool is used for personalized marketing to directly find and contact agents who have buyers searching for listings like yours. The agent list populated by this tool shows agents who have searches matching the criteria of your listing.

The "Reverse Prospecting" tool in Matrix is only available for certain lists (not the listings themselves).  To use it, hold your mouse over the "My Matrix" tab in the toolbar, then click "My Listings" in the drop-down list.  At the top left of this page, in the "Show" drop down box select "My Active Listings" - this is the only option that will activate the "Reverse Prospecting" button.  For all other options in this menu the button will be grayed-out.

Each of these agents have a contact who has received your listing. Click the agent name to prompt an email box to message them about your listing. They can identify the contact via the Reference # by looking it up on their Contacts page. The link to their contact and your listing is auto populated into the message so the agents can reference who and what is being reverse prospected.

Details about each field shown on this screen:

- The "Reference Number (Ref#)" field refers to the Agent's contact unique identity number. The agent will use this to find the contact who has received your listing.

- "Pre-Approved" is an optional field in the contact information screen where the agent can specify if the contact has been pre-approved or not. Please note: if this field is blank, this doesn't mean the contact hasn't been pre-approved, it's an optional field for the agent.

- "Emailed" shows if you have emailed this agent previously.

- “Count” is the total number of listings each contact has been sent by their agent (meaning: your listing is one of [count#]. The lower the number, the more narrow/ specific their criteria & ideally, better chances for your listing).

- “Date Sent" is the date that your listing was sent to their client.

- “Favorite (Fav)" is referencing if your listing was selected as a "Favorite" (Heart icon) in the OneHome Client Portal.
Please note: This number may differ from the number on the My Listings > My Hit Counter screen because Reverse Prospecting is a optional tool agents can opt-out for their contacts. Also, if your listing was favored, then un-favored (un-select the heart icon), it will still "count" the favorite in Hit Counters but if it is not currently a favorite, it will not show in Reverse Prospecting.

Emails have to be sent to one agent at a time, Canopy MLS does not offer the ability to send mass emails or download a list of agent email addresses from Matrix.

Reverse Prospecting for Buyer Agents

Reverse Prospecting is a selectable option when setting up a Contact and Auto-Emails.

You can find this option when creating a new contact on the My Matrix > My Contacts screen. When you select "Add" the contact information screen will populate and under the "Settings" section, you will find the "Enable Reverse Prospecting" toggle. It's pre-selected as "Enabled", you can disable it by toggling off.
You will also find this option on the Auto-Email setting screen, under the "Settings" section. You will see " If disabled, contact is hidden in all reverse prospecting results. It's pre-selected as "Enabled", you can disable it by toggling off.

Once you receive a Reverse prospecting email, there will be a reference number (for your contact) and a personal message from the agent. It will also include the MLS number and a direct link to the Contact the reverse prospect email is referencing.
